The Green Center hosted a National Public Lands Day worksite for the third year in a row on Saturday, September 26th, 2009. That morning, fifty-five dedicated volunteers gathered in the Urban Bird Corridor to remove invasive bush honeysuckle and collect litter from the walking trail and surrounding habitat. The Green Center hosts two large-scale workdays annually, National Public Lands Day in September, and Free the Forest in April. Volunteers may also participate in wildlife habitat restoration and youth educational program opportunities during our weekly Wednesday workdays. The next event will be the second annual Fall Fire Festival on Saturday, November 7th, 2009.
