The Regional Food Summit on Thursday, March 4th, 2010, will be regional discussion about the development of a Food Policy Council Steering Committee for the St. Louis Region. The Summit will bring together residents of the metro region to discuss the benefits of food system planning. It will include breakout sessions on food access, healthy retail, farm to school programs, and production and distribution. The summit will feature Mark Winne, author of Closing the Food Gap, as the keynote speaker. The summit will be held at Saint Louis University in the Allied Health Building from 8am-4pm. The early bird registration fee is only $30.
A VIP reception will be held the night before the summit, March 3rd, from 5:30-7:30 pm, at the Piper Palm House in Tower Grove Park. Mark Winne will be reading from his book and it will include samples of local food. The early bird cost for the VIP reception is also only $30. Early Bird Registration for both the Reception and the Summit is $50, a saving of $10!
